Netflix unveils first look at Joshua Garcia, Anne Curtis in 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay'
Soon, we'll be able to watch the Philippine adaptation of It's Okay to Not Be Okay, featuring Anne Curtis and Joshua Garcia, as Netflix just dropped its first look on Thursday.
The released photo shows a glimpse of the chemistry between Garcia's character, Patrick Gonzales, and Curtis' Emilia Hernandez.
Based on the hit Korean drama of the same name, the ABS-CBN show follows the story of "an author with severe antisocial tendencies learns to confront her deep emotional wounds when she meets a stranger who challenges her cold façade."
The original K-drama starred some of the biggest names in the South Korean entertainment industry, including the country's highest-paid actor and Queen of Tears star Kim Soo-hyun, Seo Yea-ji, Oh Jung-se, and Park Gyu-young.
The show followed the ill-fated love story of an anti-social children's book author named Ko Moon-young (Seo Yea-ji) and a psych ward caretaker, Moon Gang-tae (Kim Soo-hyun), who dedicated his life to taking care of his autistic older brother Moon Sang-tae (Oh Jung-se).
Meanwhile, the local adaptation's creative producer, Henry King Quitain, previously said that IOTNBO will focus on the Filipino aspect.
"Gagawin nating Filipino 'yung Korean series and in due time malalaman niyo 'yung changes," he said, adding that they are also working with Filipino animators as the series also highlights animations and illustrations, especially with some scenes showcasing Ko Moon-young's book.
The IOTNBO Philippine remake is under Star Creatives and is set to premiere on July 18 on Netflix.
