The agency of South Korean actor and singer Lee Ji Hoon confirmed that his wife had reported him to the police for alleged domestic violence.

Local authorities had received a phone call from the wife of a "40-something actor" in late July who claimed that he became physically violent with her in their home.

The pair were reportedly arguing when the actor decided to leave his house. When the wife tried to stop him, things got physical between them.

Ji Hoon’s agency, Y.ONE Entertainment, confirmed that he was indeed the personality involved in the incident, per a report from Soompi.

"It’s true that the '40-something actor A' in today’s reports is our actor Lee Ji Hoon," they stated.

"During a marital argument, the police arrived on the scene due to a report by his wife, but they determined based on testimony at the scene that it was not a serious incident," they added.

Despite the incident, the agency stated that the wife "does not wish to press charges" and that there was "no assault."

"The case is currently in the process of being closed. We deeply apologize for giving you cause for concern through this matter, and both Lee Ji Hoon and his wife are reflecting on the incident," they said.

In South Korea, certain lesser offenses, such as non-fatal bodily injuries or minor assaults, are considered non-prosecutable offenses without the victim’s consent. This means that the prosecution must receive an explicit complaint from the victim to continue legal action.

Ji Hoon is known for starring in films such as Chronicle of a Blood Merchant, The Merciless, I Can Speak, Honey Sweet, and more.
