'American Idol' executive and her husband found murdered in their home
An executive of American Idol and her husband were found dead in their Los Angeles residence.
According to a report by Variety, a spokesperson for the show confirmed that their longtime music supervisor Robin Kaye and her partner Thomas Deluca, both 70, were found dead of gunshot wounds.
"We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing," they said. "Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time."
Los Angeles Police Department officer Rosario Cervantes said they responded to a call for a "welfare check" in their home on Monday afternoon, with the couple's relatives noting they had not heard from them for several days.
Upon checking, authorities found Kaye and Deluca lifeless. "The victims succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, and the suspect fled from the residence on foot," they said in a statement.
A suspect, identified as Raymond Boodarian, has been arrested. According to police, they may have entered their residence through an unlocked door. A confrontation took place when the couple got home, "which resulted in the suspect taking their lives."
The LAPD is now looking into whether the suspect had any connection to the victims.
Kaye worked for American Idol for 15 years. She also became part of other shows like Lip Sync Battle, and served as vice president of the Guild of Music Supervisors.
Like his partner, Deluca was also into music. He worked as a songwriter and musician.
