Malaysia Airlines lets you add a free flight to select Malaysian destinations when you book an international trip

If you're already dreaming of your next international getaway and are planning to book your flights with Malaysia Airlines, you can enjoy a side trip to Malaysia without significant extra cost.
With its Bonus Side Trip offer, Malaysia Airlines is giving travelers a chance to add a domestic flight to their international itinerary. And just as the title implies, the flight fare is free—you only have to pay for local government and airport taxes.
When you book an international trip with Malaysia’s flag carrier, you get to pick your complimentary domestic flight to one of these spots: Alor Setar, Langkawi, Johor Bahru, Kota Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kuantan, and Penang.
This offer is exclusively for Malaysia Airlines' international passengers traveling from one international destination to another international destination. It is part of the airline’s strategy to support the "Visit Malaysia Year 2026" campaign.
This deal doesn't apply to ASEAN routes or international to domestic routes. Also, you can't combine the Bonus Side Trip with any other ongoing deals or promotions from Malaysia Airlines.
How to avail?
- Simply provide your origin city, international destination, and departure dates.
- A "Bonus Side Trip" tab will then become visible. Click on it.
- From the search results, choose your preferred flight to any Peninsular Malaysia destination. This offer is valid when traveling en route from one international destination to another, or on your way back home.
- Confirm your selection before proceeding. Click "Continue" to input passenger details and complete payment. You'll also have the opportunity to add ancillary offers such as extra baggage, meals, and paid seats.
The fees are inclusive of a 7kg carry-on bag and one piece 25kg checked-in bag.
