Hyun Bin's impressive resume and extensive filmography make his humility all the more striking. The Korean actor proved to be just as charming and gentlemanly in person as he is on screen during his visit to the Philippines on Friday, Aug 8.

The Philippines, he said, has always been on his bucket list. And while he hasn’t explored the country that much yet, he was particularly taken with the warm Filipino hospitality he experienced.

“One thing that I'm really surprised about is, you know, the warm hospitality [and] how they welcomed me in the Philippines. And of course, the bright energy that I have witnessed,” he said through a translator during his press conference in Solaire Resort.

In the last three years alone, he's starred in the films The Point Men and Harbin, and he has an upcoming Disney+ series, Made in Korea. Balancing demanding acting roles with numerous endorsements, including his latest Solaire Resort ambassadorship, and his new role as a father, Hyun Bin has a busy schedule. Yet, he's come to realize that with his career's demands, he hasn't always been able to fully savor the present.

"'You can still enjoy that moment.' That's one message I want to tell myself back in the past," he reflected.

Now, looking back on his career, he sees that he was so focused on work that he missed out on other experiences. “I've only been going straight, not minding whatever is on my side, but really focusing on the work. So I really don't have time to look around and enjoy whatever sceneries that I can enjoy,” he continued.

“So if I were to tell myself in the past, [it's to] 'enjoy the moment and enjoy the big crowds, the surroundings, rather than just going forward or towards your goal,'” Hyun Bin said, adding that he finds inspiration for his work by observing and speaking to a lot of people around him.

But all in all, the actor said he owes it to the fans.

“No words can explain how I feel,” Hyun Bin said. “I’m very speechless about the amount of love and support I receive.”

The Crash Landing on You star said he is “very grateful” and “thankful” for the fans who give him the strength to become a better actor.

“The unconditional and unchanging love and support that I received from Filipino fans, I'm really, really grateful and honored to have this kind of support. And with that love, I would like to turn it back to you, to the Filipino fans,” he said.
