Anne Curtis denies viral post about not liking Vice Ganda's jokes
Anne Curtis clarified on X that the viral posts allegedly from her about Vice Ganda are not true.
The social media buzz came after rumors claimed that Curtis disapproved of Vice Ganda’s humor.
In an alleged post, the It's Okay Not to Be Okay star was said to have expressed that she was not fond of Vice Ganda’s actions and jokes, and even hinted at “hidden” feelings regarding the comedian’s supposed disrespect toward others.
"Sometimes yung joke mo [V]ice hindi na talaga nakakatuwa," the fake post read.
"Di ka na lang namin pinatulan dahil sa respito! ang hilig mo magpahiya ng tao di mo nga alam na andami na contestant na badtrip sayo," it continued.
However, on Wednesday morning, Curtis shared that she and her “sisterette” are on good terms, and stressed that the so-called tweet did not come from her.
She stated: “Good morning guys! See you on showtime today! And cguro naman by now alam nyo Hindi galing sa akin ung post that’s floating around about my sisterette!!! And she also added to whoever created the rumor to show respect. “Konting RESPETO naman po.”
The rumored post surfaced following Vice Ganda’s absence from It’s Showtime since Monday.
The host got caught in a controversy after performing a comedy sketch called “Jetski Holiday” during her "Super Divas" concert with Regine Velasquez. The skit was a satire on Duterte’s 2016 statement that he would ride a jet ski in the West Philippine Sea.
The joke has caused tension between Duterte supporters and politicians affiliated with the former president, leading efforts to declare Vice Ganda as persona non grata in Davao.
However, Davao City acting Vice Mayor Rodrigo "Rigo" Duterte II dismissed a viral document online, clarifying that the city council has not passed any persona non grata resolution. He said they "will not be distracted by cheap insults and distasteful jokes made for clout."
Vice President Sara Duterte, meanwhile, said she has yet to see the skit and believes it has to be a majority decision when it comes to declaring someone persona non grata in Davao City.
The comedian has yet to address the issue.
