Netflix renews 'Wednesday' for Season 3
Get ready for more bone-chilling humor. Netflix has officially announced that Wednesday will return for a third season, even before the second season premieres.
While there is no premiere date for Season 3, you won't have to wait long for more of Wednesday Addams' misadventures. Season 2 will be released in two parts, with the first part dropping on Aug. 6, and the second on Sept. 3.
Showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar expressed their excitement in a joint statement, saying, “Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can.”
“We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.” Millar added, “We will be seeing more Addams Family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!”
Jenna Ortega, who also serves as the series' producer, previously said that the upcoming season will be “bigger” and “more action-packed,” teasing that they will lean more toward the horror genre.
“It’s really, really exciting because all throughout the show, while Wednesday does need a little bit of an arc, she never really changes and that’s the wonderful thing about her,” she told E! News on the 75th Emmy Awards red carpet. “There’s really, really good one-liners, and I think everything’s bigger. It's a lot more action-packed.”
Directed by Tim Burton, Wednesday premiered on Netflix in November 2022 and was included in Netflix’s Top 10 list of most popular English series. Its renewal for a second season was announced in January 2023.
