No more Nate: Adrian Grenier won't return for 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'
Whether you were rooting for him or not, Nate is officially out of the picture for The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Adrian Grenier, who played Andy Sachs' (Anne Hathaway) boyfriend, Nate, isn't returning for the sequel of the comedy-drama film, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.
In the original 2006 film, Nate often complained about Andy's demanding schedule and was critical of her career in fashion, ultimately leading to their split. Though they reconciled at the end after Andy left Runway for a newspaper job, fans won't see their relationship evolve in the upcoming sequel.
Last Monday, 20th Century Studios announced that the production begins this week, with filming taking place in New York and Italy.
Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci will reprise their roles. Meanwhile, Kenneth Branagh has joined the cast as Priestly's husband.
David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna will again direct and write the new The Devil Wears Prada movie, with Karen Rosenfelt also returning as producer.
The sequel will reportedly follow Miranda Priestly (Streep) as she deals with the struggles of traditional magazines. She'll go head-to-head with Emily (Blunt), her other former assistant, who now holds a big position at a luxury company and controls the advertising money Miranda needs.
Besides his notable role in the TV series Entourage, Grenier's film credits include Drive Me Crazy, Arsenal, and Marauders. He also starred in the drama/thriller miniseries, Clickbait.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters on May 1, 2026.
