An employer from Malaysia demanded that his employee, who was on vacation leave, share her live location as proof that she's on a holiday.

An employee, known by her Threads handle @_nnadrahhh, recently sparked online discussion after revealing her employer's controversial new policy.

As reported by the South China Morning Post, on June 10, she publicly questioned her boss's demand for her live location whenever she was on leave—a rule that applied to all types of leave, including unpaid and sick days.

The woman stated that her superior threatened to mark employees as "absent" if they didn't comply and would even delay approving leave applications until their location was shared.

During a recent trip to a Malaysian island, her refusal to share her location prompted her boss to call her multiple times, leaving her furious.

According to SCMP, the woman said she would report her company to the Department of Labor if they did it again.

Malaysia's labor law states that employees with less than two years of service are entitled to eight days of paid annual leave.

A paid leave of 12 days per year is granted to employees who have completed more than two but less than five years of service. Those who have been working for over five years are entitled to a paid leave of 16 days a year.
