Justin Baldoni accused of harassing another 'It Ends with Us' star over subpoena amid Blake Lively legal battle
The It Ends with Us drama has gotten even more heated as actress Isabela Ferrer claimed that her co-star and director Justin Baldoni had been "harassing" her over a subpoena request amid his legal dispute with Blake Lively.
According to a report by E! News, Ferrer, who plays a younger version of Lively's character in the film, has filed a motion accusing Baldoni and his associates of acting "inappropriately" towards her after she received a subpoena from Lively's counsel as part of the legal dispute.
Ferrer's attorneys detailed that she had reached out to Baldoni's Wayfarer Studios production company to have her legal fees covered in accordance with her movie contract.
She, however, alleged that the company sought to retain control over her response to the subpoena before being granted compensation.
"From that point forward, Baldoni has tried to manipulate, threaten, control, and otherwise act inappropriately towards Ms. Ferrer," her lawyers claimed.
They further accused the actor of harassing Ferrer when she refused to comply with the request and that his actions are "yet another attempt to manipulate the press, to create havoc on a young, up-and-coming and talented actress and to violate this Court’s policies on the publishing of non-party personally identifying information."
"Ms. Ferrer has already had to resist Baldoni’s inappropriate conduct in connection with her response to the Lively Subpoena," her attorneys said.
"While Ms. Ferrer will faithfully comply with her legal obligations under any subpoena, summons or court order, she obviously will not be intimidated or extorted by any party to otherwise participate in the proceedings," they added.
This is the latest development in Lively and Baldoni's legal battle that began in December 2024 when the actress filed a sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni and Jamey Heath of Wayfarer Studios, the producer of It Ends with Us.
In her complaint, Lively accused the two of telling her about their past sexual relationships and "previous porn addiction." Heath also allegedly showed Lively a video of his wife naked and giving birth.
Baldoni and Heath supposedly entered Lively's makeup trailer without permission, "including when she was breastfeeding her infant child." Lively also recalled Baldoni claiming he could communicate with the dead, including her father, Ernie Lively. She found it "off-putting and violative."
In response, Baldoni's camp has called the accusations in the report "categorically false." They later released a series of video takes during the production of It Ends with Us in an attempt to debunk Lively's sexual harassment allegations, which prompted Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, to request a gag order.
In June, Judge J. Lewis Liman dismissed some cases filed by Baldoni, which involved a $400 million (P22 billion) countersuit accusing Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist of extortion and defamation.
The trial for the Lively v. Wayfarer Studios et al. case is slated for March 2026.
