The University of the Philippines' College Admission Test for the academic year 2026-2027 will be held this weekend, ending the long wait for hopeful applicants.

With thousands of examinees set to report to testing centers across the country, it's crucial to come prepared, not just academically but logistically too.

Here's a quick rundown of essential tips, updates, and reminders to help you stay sharp and stress-free on the test day.

Things to do before the test

Before you head to your UPCAT, take note of these reminders from UP. The most important instruction is to print your test permit on short bond paper and ensure all the details are clearly readable. Also, do not send your test permit file to anyone else or tamper with it in any way, as this is prohibited.

To ensure a smooth exam day, bring a valid ID, at least two sharpened, good-quality pencils, an eraser, snacks and water, a face mask, and hand sanitizer. Avoid bringing unnecessary items such as electronic devices.

Bringing jackets and wearing comfortable clothes are also encouraged, as different testing rooms may have different temperatures and ventilation.

The university also advises all test-takers to familiarize themselves with their assigned testing center and plan their route ahead of time to avoid getting lost on exam day. Be at the testing venue at 6 a.m. for the morning session and 12 p.m. for the afternoon session.

The test, which will cover Language Proficiency, Science, Mathematics, and Reading Comprehension, will last for five hours. Just as important as your studies, remember to prepare your body and mind by eating and hydrating well, and getting enough sleep before your exam.

If you are not feeling confident about how you'll perform, you can get a sample exam from the UP Office of Administration so you can practice test-taking. Avoid guessing during the exam, as it will not significantly increase your score.

After the exam, don't forget to submit your other requirements, such as Form 1 and Form 2B. The deadline for these documents is Aug. 25.

Testing centers

The exam will be held in 117 testing centers nationwide. See below for the complete list of venues per city or town:

Keep in mind, however, that some centers have rescheduled the test administration. Those who will be taking their exams in Cuyo, Palawan, are rescheduled to Aug. 3 and 4, while those in Bangued, Abra, are rescheduled to Aug. 3.

The testing center in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, has also been relocated to Lingayen, Pangasinan, at the Pangasinan School of Arts and Trade.

If you're taking the exam at UP's Diliman campus, below is a map to help you navigate your way to your designated place.

As for traffic, UP announced that the Bike lanes along the Academic Oval in UP Diliman will be closed due to bikers and joggers on Aug. 2 and 3.
