With the theme "Champions of Change," ArteFino Fair 2025 celebrates the spirit of innovation. The annual fair serves as a platform where brands and designers are inspired to create something fresh, often by collaborating with other creative minds.

The organizers explain, “We are rooted in heritage, but never stuck in the past. The Filipino spirit lives in the way we adapt, preserve, and reimagine traditions.”

ArteFino Fair 2025, which runs from July 31 to Aug. 3 at The Fifth at Rockwell, will highlight several of these creative partnerships, showcasing how tradition can be a gateway for fresh, modern design. Check them out below.

Jor-el x Patis

Jor-El Espina's latest collection, "Heirloom," beautifully merges the past with the present. Inspired by the "Grand Dame of Philippine Fashion," Patis Tesoro, Espina honors traditional Filipino techniques while injecting a fresh, contemporary perspective.

"When she launched her book early this year, I bought her book and was inspired," the designer told the media. "I studied everything she does from different eras. There are old fabrics from her archives that I used. Even retaso, I applied it in the new collection."

The collection features patchwork and embroidery, reimagining Tesoros' classic design crafts with a vibrant, modern flair.

"I injected more bursting color this time. Ms. Patis is a bohemian kind of a Filipinana, but mine is, I think, more of a contemporary silhouette," he said.

Camille Villanueva x Tara Soriano

Camille Villanueva has partnered with muralist Tara Soriano to create a limited-edition collection of hand-painted clothing. Villanueva's signature dresses, jackets, and tops serve as a canvas for Soriano's artistic vision, bringing mural art to life.

"I've always wanted a Filipino floral print that is easy to wear—almost like a neutral or classic—but nothing too commercial," Villanueva explained. The result is a stunning collection that features florals and organic lines.

As concerns about waste grow, mindful craftsmanship offers a beautiful solution. The No-Waste Folding Stool is a collaboration between Sustainably Made and Zapateria Hub that transforms discarded materials into a functional and stylish piece of furniture.

The sturdy wooden frame is made from sustainably farmed trees from Sustainably Made's farm in Pangasinan, while the leather seat uses surplus material from Zapateria's Marikina workshop.

Idyllic Summer x Geraldine Javier x Marionne Contreras

Idyllic Summers' Earthbound II is a collection of eco-printed workwear for men and women.

In this collaboration, artists Geraldine Javier and Marionne Contreras join designer Steffi Cua to create practical yet beautiful garments inspired by the slow, intentional practice of gardening.

The collection, which includes smocks and utility aprons in one-of-a-kind prints, draws inspiration from the field clothing of artist-farmers like Derek Jarman and Agnes Varda, reimagined for the Philippine environment.
