Former reality TV star Tamika Chesser accused of killing and dismembering her boyfriend
Former reality television star Tamika Chesser is now facing a murder charge after her boyfriend was found dead and dismembered—with his head still yet to be located by authorities.
The South Australia Police, in a statement, said that Tamika's partner, Julian Story, was discovered lifeless inside their residence on Flinders Highway, Port Lincoln on June 19. His remains were found "severely burnt and disfigured" in the bathroom.
"It was a confronting scene for police and emergency services personnel as Julian’s body had been dismembered," they said. "Julian’s head had been removed during the dismemberment and, despite extensive searches, has not yet been located."
Investigators believe Julian was killed on the midnight of June 17.
"All murders cause pain and grief for victims’ families and friends," Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said, describing the circumstances of Julian's killing as "particularly harrowing, confronting, and distressing."
According to local media outlet ABC, Fielke said in a press conference that they are focused on finding Julian's head so that he can be laid to rest.
"I can only imagine … the grief this news is causing Julian's family," he continued.
Per Fielke, there's no obvious motive for Julian's murder at this time. "We know that they were in a relationship together ... it's something that's being explored, that domestic relationship."
Tamika remains in custody and is set to make a court appearance in December.
The suspect was part of the 2010 edition of Beauty and the Geek Australia, where women and men take part in different challenges for a cash prize. She finished the show as a runner-up. Tamika later worked as a model and appeared in several magazines.
