Neil Arce gave fans an update on what Angel Locsin has been up to lately as she continues to stay out of the limelight.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News, Arce, whose son Joaquin recently joined the entertainment scene, was asked whether Locsin is staging a comeback in showbiz.

"I haven’t asked her," Arce said. "I never ask her when she wants to come back."

According to Arce, he isn't asking Locsin about her next steps in her career as she's a "strong independent woman."

"I married an alpha queen, and I respect that. Kung ano ang gusto niyang gawin, as long as nasa tama, she has my support," he said.

Arce shared that Locsin continues to be an avid gamer.

"I think everyone knows that she's into gaming. She's taking online classes, and she's enjoying herself," he said.

Arce added that Locsin is "taking her time," noting that her dad passed away a few months ago. "I'm giving her own space to adjust to everything that has happened."

While he isn't a gamer and couldn't understand what Locsin is doing, Arce said he's giving her his full support.

"Basta happy siya. I always ask her, 'Are you happy?'" he said. "Alam ko naman kung totoo o hindi, and sabi niya happy naman siya."

Nevertheless, Arce said he understands the excitement of Locsin's fans who are eagerly waiting for her next project.

"I'm her husband, lover, everything and I'm also a fan," he said. "Deep inside, of course, I miss her on the screen. Pero nangunguna ‘yung pagka-husband eh, kung saan ka masaya."

Locsin's last teleserye was The General's Daughter in 2019. Her last projects were in 2020, hosting the program Iba Yan and having a cameo in Four Sisters Before the Wedding. She also went on a social media hiatus in 2022, but briefly returned on Jan. 13, 2025, after her X account got hacked.

Arce and Locsin first confirmed their relationship in 2018 and originally planned to get married in November 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They tied the knot in an intimate civil wedding ceremony on July 26, 2021. They first publicly announced their marriage on Aug. 7 of that year.
