Rufa Mae Quinto’s ex-husband Trevor Magallanes passes away

Trevor Magallanes, Rufa Mae Quinto's former husband, has passed away. 

The actress expressed her deep sadness in an Instagram post on Thursday morning, sharing several photos of Magallanes.

"I'm deeply saddened by this development. Hope u give us time to mourn his lost especially my daughter. Just pray for us that we will get thru this by the help of God!" Quinto wrote in the caption.

According to her, they are “still gathering information about his death” and she and his immediate family "are still verifying what happened."

"We kindly ask his friends or anyone to stop spreading fake news or mere speculations about his death," Quinto wrote, adding that she and her daughter Athena are flying to the US tomorrow.

"So please wait for the official announcement surrounding his death from me & his family only and not from any other source," she added. "Mahal kita Trev."

Quinto tied the knot with Magallanes, who was based in the US, in November 2016. They welcomed their daughter in February the following year.

In December 2024, Magallanes announced that he and his wife were "in the process of a divorce" through his Instagram stories.

"You may be aware divorce can be very devastating to the children and also the parents. That being said, my marriage has been a s---t show and I am sorry for that. All that matters [to] me at this time is getting through the divorce as best as I can and spending time with Athena," he said.

However, Quinto, in an interview last January, said that none of them has filed for it yet.

"Tinatanggap ko, kasi kung ayaw na rin naman niya, bakit ko hindi re-respetuhin ‘yon? Pero ‘yung legalities, mga file-file, walang file ng divorce. Walang nag-file," she said.
