Julia Montes got candid about her relationship with her longtime boyfriend Coco Martin and her hopes to eventually start a family with him.

In an interview on Karen Davila's YouTube vlog, the actress took the time to share her love story with Coco and how he became her "knight in shining armor" when she was at a low point in life.

Pero not specifically as partner po ah, and then nagkataon dumating siya," she added.

Julia shared that whenever she faced struggles, Coco would be there to lend her a helping hand.

'Yung parang, hindi naman ako 'yung mase-stress this time tapos meron nang magha-handle for me."

She admitted, however, that she wasn't attracted to the Batang Quiapo star, 43, at first.

Eh parang siya lang 'yung gumawa nun kay lola," Julia said, referring to her grandmother who would always accompany her in her gigs.

Dun ako na-in-love," the 30-year-old continued.

Much of Julia and Coco's romance was hidden from the public eye. It was only in 2023 that the pair finally confirmed that they have been together for 12 years now.

The local star stressed that the two of them were not hiding their relationship. "It's more of, we're just not sharing everything. We're just private po."

"Choice po namin yung naging choice namin 'yun both, na parang tahimik kami. Walang outside factor na nagiging problema namin kasi ang importante, kami as a couple," she said.

May magkukulang. So kapag doon ka nagfocus, masisira talaga, any relationship. So parang sa amin, ang lagi lang naming rule, respect," she added.

Starting a family and love child rumors

Asked whether she wanted to have kids with Coco in the future, Julia did not hesitate to say yes.

"Of course po. 'Yan naman ang happiness sa buhay, ang family life," the actress said.

She then shut down rumors that Zia Grace, the child star from her drama series Saving Grace, is her and Coco's secret love child.

So even kami, kapag nag-uusap kami, 'Oh talaga mapagkakamalang anak natin yan kasi nga kamuka,'" Julia joked.

The actress also shared Zia's reaction to the buzz online about her supposed parentage.

"'Ate ate, nakita mo po 'yung nasa Instagram? Sabi nila, anak mo daw po.' So happy siya. Natutuwa rin naman po ako," she continued.

Julia and Coco started their romance in 2011 and have since worked in various projects as a love team, including Walang Hanggan (2012), A Moment in Time (2013), Ikaw Lamang (2014), and Wansapanataym: Yamishita’s Treasure (2015).
