Manny Jacinto is coming to Manila for 'Freakier Friday' world tour
Filipino Canadian actor Manny Jacinto is coming to the Philippines.
The Good Place star is visiting Manila for the exclusive red carpet premiere of the highly anticipated Disney film Freakier Friday to be held at the SM Mall of Asia Main Atrium on Aug. 5.
"I hope to see you guys there," Jacinto said in a video posted to Disney Studios PH's Instagram.
Filipino fans can get the chance to attend the premiere and see Jacinto in the flesh and be among the first to catch the movie. Details have yet to be revealed.
Freakier Friday, the sequel to the 2003 film Freaky Friday, sees Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reprise their role as Tess and Anna Coleman, respectively.
The first film revolved around the strained relationship between mother and daughter who switch bodies after eating a mysterious cookie. They were forced to navigate their swapped lives and work together to switch back before it's too late.
In the sequel, Anna now has a daughter of her own, who doesn't get along with her soon-to-be stepdaughter. She's also preparing for her wedding to her fiancé Eric Davies (played by Jacinto).
In the official trailer, Tess and Anna are seen in a session with a fortune teller, who tells them, “Your lifelines—it’s like they've intersected before. You walked in each other’s path. You learned a lesson, a lesson that may serve you again.”
The two freak out and leave—and then feel an earthquake-like shake upon entering a bar. The next morning, they wake up in different bodies again, this time involving Anna’s daughter and stepdaughter.
The sequel to the 2003 film will also see cast members Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Haley Hudson, Christina Vidal Mitchelle, Lucille Song, and Rosalind Chao reprising their roles
Freakier Friday is set to hit cinemas on Aug. 8.
Jacinto is known for his roles as Jason Mendoza in the sitcom The Good Place and Star Wars series The Acolyte.
