Karla Estrada on hate comments son Daniel Padilla received after breakup: ‘Hindi ko na halos kayanin’
Karla Estrada admitted that she was affected by the hate her son, Daniel Padilla, received following his split with Kathryn Bernardo in 2023.
In a guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Wednesday, Jan. 29, the TV host shared more about her life as a mom, especially about her firstborn, Daniel.
Mid-part of the interview, the “King of Talk” asked, “[Ano ang] pinakamalaking kontrobersiya na pinagdaanan ni Daniel na muntik kang bumigay?”
“Siguro itong mga binatong masasakit na salita kay Daniel nitong mga nakaraang taon,” Karla said, before confirming she was referring to Daniel’s controversial breakup with Kathryn.
“I think 'yung paghihiwalay kasi sa kanila ni Kathryn 'yun eh. Sila naman ang nakakaalam talaga at sila naman magre-resolba kung ano man 'yung dahilan ng paghihiwalay at doon sa nangyaring hiwalayan,” she continued, adding that she was so affected that she wanted to confront every basher.
“Pero 'yung salita ng tao na halos hindi mo na makain at sobrang kabastusan, medyo 'yun ang hindi ko na kinakaya. Hindi ko kinakaya na parang ikamamatay ko ha. Hindi ko na halos kayanin na kailangan ko nang hanapin 'yung mga taong ganun magsalita at isa-isahing sagutin,” she added.
“But of course, kinakausap kita, kinakausap ko ang ating mga ibang kaibigan, kaya ang pinakamaganda nating ginawa ay ipaubaya dun sa dalawa,” she told Boy.
Karla had Daniel when she was 19 years old. While she noted that it was hard for her at that time because she was just about to launch her career, she has no regrets for choosing to focus on her son.
“Sobrang hirap nun dahil kailangan kong mamili sa karera na matagal ko nang pinapangarap, na binigay sakin at muntikan ko na tuparin, pero hindi ko makalimutan, o ‘di ko kayang mawala sa sinapupunan ko ‘yung unang anak na nagkaroon ako,” the Karla said.
She also looked back at the time she first saw and held Daniel. “Pag tingin ko sabi ko, ‘Do oh, meron akong superstar,’” she added.
Kathryn and Daniel first confirmed their romance in 2018. Rumors of their breakup sparked in 2023 until they officially confirmed their separation in November of the same year. The cause of their split was not disclosed.
