From K-pop concert films to karaoke sessions: HYBE CineFest in PH to be held in July

Pinoy K-pop fans, this one's for you!

Korean entertainment company HYBE is bringing some of their biggest boy groups’ concerts to Philippine cinemas.

On its website, the company said its HYBE CINE FEST IN ASIA cinema series will be held across 10 territories, from July 10 to 13.

In the Philippines, CINE FEST venues are at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong, and SM North Edsa in Quezon City.

Other participants—and their respective venues—include Japan, Indonesia, and India (to be announced); Bangkok (SF Central World); Kuala Lumpur (GSC Lalaport BBC); Seoul (CGV Yongsan); Taipei (Vieshow Qsquare); Hong Kong (PREMIERE ELEMENTS); and Singapore (Shaw JEWEL). The complete list of venues will be out on June 4 at 8 p.m. KST (7 p.m., Philippine time), according to the agency.

The CINE FEST lineup consists of the following:

  • BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E: A two-day concert featuring songs from their sixth mini album, Map of the Soul: Persona, and their fourth studio album, Map of the Soul: 7. It was originally held at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul in October 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [BE THE SUN]: The band's fourth global tour that began at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on June 25, 2022, and ended at the Gelora Bung Karno Madya Stadium in Jakarta on Dec. 28, 2022. The tour marked its debut at Bulacan's Philippine Arena, the biggest indoor arena in the world, in October.
  • TOMORROW X TOGETHER WORLD TOUR [ACT: SWEET MIRAGE]: The group's second world tour that started on March 25, 2023, and ended on Dec. 3, 2023, in Seoul. In August of that period, there was a local stop at the Philippine Arena.
  • ENHYPEN WORLD TOUR [FATE]: The act's second world tour which originally kicked off on July 29, 2023, at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena and ended on Sept. 1, 2024, at New Clark City in Pampanga. It had an encore, Fate Plus, that began on Feb. 24, 2024, in Seoul and ended on Sept. 1, 2024, in Japan.
  • HYBE CINEMA NORAEBANG: A means of bringing South Korea's culture of noraebang, or karaoke session, in cinemas. Featured artists include BTS, SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, &TEAM, BOYNEXTDOOR, TWS, ILLIT, and KATSEYE.

    Aside from the concerts and noraebang, HYBE said the event will have "exciting in-person experiences," including select venues that would sell official merchandise.

    "Plus, don’t miss a variety of exciting on-site events at these locations! Let's meet at the Special Locations!" it added.

    HYBE CineFest is exclusively coming to SM Cinemas. Tickets will go on sale on June 4. Other details, including ticket prices, are yet to be revealed. Fans can check out its official website from time to time for updates.

    HYBE has staged fan experiences through the likes of Weverse Con, which featured live performances of its artists on the fandom platform Weverse.
