A 30-year-old woman has been detained by police for allegedly attempting to break into the home of BTS member Jungkook just hours after he was discharged from military service.

According to a report by Korea Times, the Yongsan Police Station apprehended the woman around 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, after she was caught repeatedly attempting to enter the passcode at the front door of the K-pop star's residence in Yongsan District.

Police responded to a report and arrested her at the scene on suspicion of attempted trespassing.

Reports also say that the woman had flown to South Korea specifically to see the K-pop idol.

An investigation on the matter is ongoing.

Jungkook was released from the military after completing his 18-month mandatory service that started in December 2023.

"Thank you so much for waiting for us all this time," Jungkook said. "Now that we've been discharged, I believe it's time for us to keep drawing the picture we've always envisioned. We'll make sure to prepare well and show you an even better version of ourselves."

Jungkook's fellow BTS member Jimin was also released on the same day.

Jungkook and Jimin are the new additional BTS members who were discharged from military service following RM and V a few days ago, Jin in June 2024 and J-Hope in October of the same year. Suga, meanwhile, is currently fulfilling his duty as a social service agent, an alternative to military service.
