Jessie J to undergo another surgery amid battle with breast cancer
Jessie J opened up about juggling motherhood, her career, and recovery as she gears up for another surgery this year amid her battle with breast cancer.
The singer recently took to Instagram to share a life update, expressing her optimism about navigating this year amid motherhood and her health demands.
"Another surgery needed this year. I can do it. Raising a toddler. I can do it. Releasing new music. I can do it," she wrote.
In the post, the Flashlight singer shared a short video of her, dramatically looking at a camera under a golden spotlight. It later showed the text, "29th August," seemingly teasing about a new music.
"I can rest, parent AND release new music," she continued. "I didn’t leave a major label after 18 years to be scared to rewrite the rules to fit around my life/health. I just have to make it realistic on what I can deliver in all roles in my life."
She further expressed how she's determined to power through the challenges, stressing her willingness to adapt.
"It will look different to what I had planned but that’s life, things change and either we panic and get mad that it isn’t what is was going to be, or we ADAPT," she added.
"I’m just flowing with life. Learning about who I am in motherhood and when my health goes left unexpectedly," she continued. She noted that she's still "in the thick of recovery and my body is still finding its way," and that emphasized that she loves music and life, and how she wants to "LIVE in the moment."
"Instead of stopping and disappearing and waiting for the timing to be perfect to release music again." she wrote. "I am choosing to carry on."
She went on to reflect about how life comes with highs and lows, and people "just have to keep living through all of it, the best we can."
"So here I am. LIVING," she concluded.
Jessie first shared about her early breast cancer diagnosis in June. At the time, she said she's going to "disappear for a bit" to undergo surgery.
On Aug 2, she revealed that she returned to the hospital due to an infection, but has returned home for recovery.
She is best known for her songs Price Tag, Domino, Do It Like a Dude, Flashlight, and Bang Bang, among others.
