SEVENTEEN's Woozi and Hoshi to begin mandatory military service in September
K-pop idols Woozi and Hoshi of SEVENTEEN are set to begin their military service in September.
Their agency, Pledis Entertainment, announced the military enlistment dates via Weverse on Tuesday, July 8. Woozi will begin his military service as an active duty soldier on Sept. 15, followed by Hoshi on Sept. 16.
Their last official activities before enlistment are their first fan concert dubbed HOSHI X WOOZI FAN CONCERT [WARNING], which will visit South Korean cities, as well as other Asia cities including Taipei, Taiwan, and Yokohama, Japan.
They will also join the Yizhiyu video call fan signing for the boy band's Happy Burstday album. Otherwise, they will no longer join other SEVENTEEN's group activities, but will be present for CARAT, or the group's fandom, through a variety of pre-recorded content.
"As numerous enlistees and their families will be present at the enlistment ceremony, we respectfully request that you refrain from visiting the site in person. Please send your heartfelt messages of farewell and encouragement for Hoshi and Woozi through Weverse," the agency wrote.
"We ask for your continued love and support for the artists and best wishes for their safe and healthy return. We will also strive to provide our artists with all the necessary support during this time."
The duo, part of sub-unit HxW, are the latest members of the group to enlist in the military. Before them, Jeonghan enlisted in September 2024, followed by Wonwoo on April 3.
The group’s leader, S.coups, has been exempted from military service after sustaining a knee injury in 2023.
Woozi and Hoshi debuted in the K-pop scene in 2015 as part of the boy group SEVENTEEN alongside other members Vernon, Jeonghan, Wonwoo, DK, Seungkwan, Mingyu, The8, Dino, Joshua, S.Coups, and Junhui.
The duo recently released their sub-unit's debut single album, BEAM, last March.
