Iza Calzado shares realizations after battling bronchitis during her birthday week: 'There is still so much to live for'
Iza Calzado shared her realizations after contracting bronchitis again during her birthday week.
The actress took to her Instagram account to share some highlights from her birthday celebration in the past week, saying it was "filled with so much love and meaning."
In the carousel post, Iza shared a short clip from a quiet morning with her daughter, Deia, a boodle fight dinner with her family, her video call with her friends Bianca Gonzalez and Lynn Pinugu, and their family photo.
Iza added that during that week, she also contracted bronchitis—her second time since last year.
"In the middle of it all, I was pushing through work and commitments as we prepared to leave for the UK. Then my body finally gave in. Bronchitis, again," she wrote, adding that their flight needed to be moved, which would cause her to miss her friend's wedding in Scotland this Saturday.
"I was reminded just how fragile my immune system has been this past year. It’s humbling, and honestly a bit defeating at times. But if there’s one thing people close to me know, it’s that I always try to find the breakthrough in every breakdown," the Encantadia actress wrote.
The celebrity mom said her recent birthday celebration reminded her of everything she has to be grateful for, and why it’s important for her to prioritize her health and well-being.
"Looking back at these photos and videos reminds me of how much I have to be grateful for and why I need to make better choices for my health. There is still so much to live for, so much to celebrate," she wrote.
"I hold all of that close to my heart as I work on being in my best health in mind, body and spirit. Viva La Vida!" she added.
This came almost a year after she first shared that she battled bronchitis with pharyngitis in September 2024, which left her down for over a week.
Bronchitis is a condition where the "airways leading to your lungs get inflamed and filled with mucus," while pharyngitis refers to the inflammation of the pharynx.
