Emma Mary Tiglao has officially claimed another jewel in her pageant journey—this time as Miss Grand Philippines 2025.

Representing Pampanga, Tiglao won the coveted title at the coronation night on Aug. 24, besting 28 other candidates. She was crowned by her predecessor, Miss Grand International 2024 titleholder CJ Opiaza.

Aside from the title, she also won numerous special awards, including Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown. She also earned sponsor awards, including Miss Charity, Miss Juan Hand, Face of Marinova, Miss Monarch Montage, Miss Bench, and Miss Hot Babe.

Before she raises the country's flag as Miss Grand International 2025, which is slated for Oct. 18 in Bangkok, Thailand, let's get to know more about Tiglao's journey to the crown.

A pageant veteran

Tiglao is no stranger to the world of pageantry. Before her Miss Grand Philippines win, she had already established a notable pageant career.

In 2014, she entered Binibining Pilipinas and was among the Top 15 finalists. Mary Jean Lastimosa would go on to win the crown that year. A year later, she joined Miss World Philippines and was crowned Fourth Princess.

Furthermore, in 2018, she won Miss Intercontinental and represented the country in Miss Intercontinental 2019, where she finished as a Top 20 Semifinalist and bagged numerous awards, such as Miss Popularity and Miss May Care.

A news anchor and host

Aside from being a beauty queen, Emma is also a broadcast journalist and TV host. She served as a news anchor at NET25, appearing on the late morning show Kada Umaga and the station's flagship newscast Mata Ng Agila.

Previously, in 2022, she announced that she would leave pageantry for this career leap of faith.

"Gusto ko pa rin sana na lumaban before my age reaches the finish line. Sa totoo lang nag-training na ako last year. I was prepared. But God has already opened doors for me to take a different path. And I am hopeful that you will remain my constant source of encouragement and support as I embark on this new journey. Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat," she said during that time.

In August, she was among the nominees for Best Morning Show Host at the 2025 PMPC Star Awards for Television

During the coronation night, where the Top 15 candidates shared their thoughts about peace and initiatives to eradicate war, Tiglao emphasized her role as a journalist.

"I am a news anchor, and I have reported how the world suffers. Wars destroying homes, violence stealing dreams, and calamities taking lives, yet through every heartbreaking story, an ounce of hope has always remained in my heart. These stories taught me one truth: that my voice has purpose beyond the newsroom. Now listen closely to the beat of my heart, in every heart that there's to believe, I dream of a time where I no longer speak of pain but of peace," she said.

"When my stories will no longer echo fear, but harmony, unity, and love. A world without war is not just a dream, it is a decision, and that decision begins with us right here, right now."

A furmom

In her Instagram account, Tiglao can also be seen as an animal lover with several furbabies, including Cotton, Pebbles, and Toby.
