Liza Soberano stars in unscripted YouTube series 'Can I Come In?'
Liza Soberano bares her true self in an unscripted YouTube series.
In a teaser posted on Instagram by Palestinian-Jordanian director Sarah Bahbah, the Filipina actress opens up about her thoughts, including dealing with and letting go of the pressure as a public figure, for the upcoming episode of the YouTube series, Can I Come In.
In one of the clips, she opened up, "It was a lot of pressure, a lot of pressure to be someone worthy of looking up to."
The director, on her post, highlighted their collaborative, actor-centric approach.
"As a director, I built this world in close collaboration with [Liza Soberano] shaping every detail of the set based on where she told us she feels safest, a space where she could fully tap into her truth," Bahbah wrote.
"I am not a therapist, I’m simply there to hold space and gently prompt her through the story she chose to share," she added.
She also advised that the episode might make the audience feel "uncomfortable." It is raw, vulnerable, and deeply human. Please handle it with care," she added.
According to its website, Can I Come In is a "cinematic, emotionally immersive art form; a radical hybrid of podcast intimacy, French cinema aesthetics, and raw documentary vulnerability that has never been done before."
Other than Soberano, the six-part series stars media personality Mia Khalifa, Canadian singer-songwriter Nemahsis, BANKS, Spanish model Cindy Kimberly, and actor Yesly Dimate.
The episode will premiere on Aug. 14 on Bahbah's YouTube channel.
Soberano is now being managed by American record label and entertainment agency Transparent Arts, founded by hip hop group Far East Movement.
Aside from this, she has also signed up with artist agency Verve as well as WILD, a global entertainment company managed by CEO Leonard Lim.
According to the actress, the market in Los Angeles is "so much bigger, so everyone has to fend for themselves."
"It can be a lot of work managing all of that, but it’s honestly very liberating knowing that I’m capable of all of it," she assured.
