Krishnah Gravidez shares advocacy in creating safe spaces for kids in Miss World 2025 Head-to-Head Challenge

Krishnah Marie Gravidez, the country's bet for Miss World 2025, pushed for creating safe spaces for children in the recently concluded Head-to-Head Challenge presentation.

Wearing a classy ensemble by Mark Bumgarner, the Baguio City stunner began by sharing her upbringing, in which she endured hardship moving from house to house, lacking basic necessities, and the emotional strain of her parents' separation.

"I was born and raised in an impoverished community by a family of farmers... We [couldn't] sustain rent and we've also experienced eating and sleeping without electricity and water. And it became more difficult for us when my parents decided to separate, and it taught me to navigate life earlier than most," she said.

Krishnah then chronicled how she started working at 14 to sell beauty kits, flavored drinks, bags, and clothes, and later as a fast food service crew and an advertisement specialist to help her mom.

"That's why I can say that I am a jill of all trades," she shared.

Through it all, the beauty queen dreamed of becoming a civil engineer to fulfill her father's aspirations of restoring their 100-year-old ancestral home.

'For every child's dreams'

Krishnah then narrated a heartwarming moment with her grandmother, who told her that "it's possible to rise even if you come from a poor family."

"That moment reminded me that I am not just doing it for myself but also for my family and for every child who believes that their dream is too far out of reach."

In 2022, Krishnah founded "Color The World with Kindness" to create "safe and nurturing spaces for children to play, to dream, to imagine and just be children free from labor, free from unsafe conditions."

Through this, she was able to help rebuild early learning development centers and also construct concrete homes for the "most vulnerable families" in her community in Irisan, Baguio City.

"It instilled a sense of empowerment and education in our youth and in those families," she noted.

Meanwhile, Gravidez officially made it to the Top 24 of the Miss World 2025 talent competition, which will take place on May 23. Whoever wins the segment will be among the Top 10 contestants of her continental region.

According to the 72nd Miss World's official format, 10 delegates from each continental region—Africa, Americas & Caribbean, Asia & Oceania, and Europe, including the fast-track winners—will advance to the quarterfinals out of 108. The judges will select the Top 5 contenders from each continental region. This set of beauty queens will be narrowed down to the Top 2 to have one winner and one runner-up in every region.

To determine the pageant's top four finalists, the top two candidates from each region will compete to have one continental winner, who will also be the Top 4 overall finalists. The judges will then vote to crown the 72nd Miss World title holder, followed by first, second, and third runners-up.

The first runner-up in the winner's continent will be promoted to a continental winner.

The coronation night will be held on May 31 at the HITEX Convention Center in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, where the reigning queen, Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic, will crown her successor.
