Pop star Beyoncé had to cut her song short and pause her concert in Houston after she was left suspended midair in a flying car.

A video circulating on social media showed Beyoncé, dressed in cowgirl attire and wearing an American flag during her Cowboy Carter Tour, performing 16 Carriages at the back of a red car, harnessed to cables, as it began to tilt.

"Stop. Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop," she can be heard saying, as the crowd started roaring.

Beyoncé can be seen gripping the car as it was dangling over the attendees.

It would take quite a while before the vehicle was lowered. As it happened, the video showed them holding their phones up, creating a starry night-like effect.

Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé's production company, included in its Facebook carousel the moment she was in the car.

On Instagram Story, Parkwood also issued a brief statement about the incident.

“Tonight in Houston, at NRG Stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop Beyoncé uses to circle the stadium, and see her fans up close, to tilt," it said. “She was quickly lowered and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.”

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour kicked off last April in Los Angeles. It features songs from her Cowboy Carter album that followed her hit 2022 project Renaissance.
