Valve has announced recently that it will be offering a total of $1 million in cash prizes to ten contestants ($100,000 each) who can submit “original and shippable, dream-themed weapon finishes” for Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

The contest is called The CS:GO $1 Million Dreams & Nightmares Contest and is open to any Steam user in good standing with at least  $5 or more purchases in their account.

The participants also have the option to enter as an individual or as a team.

According to the rules, entries must be submitted through the CS:GO Item Import Tool and should be tagged with ‘Dreams & Nightmares Contest’. There should also be a completed and payable CS:GO workshop submission with valid banking and taxing information.

Valve said on a blog post that it launched the Workshop feature on Steam in the past to create a centralized hub for community created content and that the Dreams & Nightmares Contest is “designed to help further support this community.”

“Since then, over five million content creators have submitted and published over 20 million new items for a variety of games on Steam, making them available to millions of gamers around the world. And, as everyone who plays these games knows – including CS players – many of the most iconic in-game items, maps, and more have been authored by members of the community,” it added.

The Dreams and Nightmares art contest starts on July 23, 1:00 a.m. and ends on October 22, 1:00 a.m.

Winners will be announced on the Counter Strike blog on November 22, 2021.
