Catch select Studio Ghibli films on the big screen this September

Get ready for a Studio Ghibli marathon! If you're as big a fan as we are, be sure to save the date.

SM Supermalls announced that it will host the Studio Ghibli Film Festival as it returns for its second year.

Six iconic films helmed by the esteemed Japanese animator and filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki will be screened at SM Cinemas from Sept. 10 to 16.

These are Princess Mononoke (1997), Spirited Away (2001), My Neighbor Totoro (1988), Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984), The Wind Rises (2013), and Ponyo (2008).

Ticket prices for the films have yet to be announced. 

Studio Ghibli was established in 1985 by Miyazaki and fellow visionary director Isao Takahata in Japan.

Over the years, the studio has established a strong presence in the animation industry through award-winning films. Among the studio's highest-grossing films are Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, and The Boy and the Heron.
