WATCH: F4 reunites for the first time in 12 years
Hold on to your hats, because this is not a throwback! The long-held wishes of fans across the globe just came true. The legendary Taiwanese boy band F4 recently reunited and performed their timeless hit, Meteor Rain.
On Instagram, Ken Chu shared a video of their performance of the iconic hit from the 2001 Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden, in which he starred alongside Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, Vanness Wu, and the late actress Barbie Hsu.
He simply captioned it "25/07/12," marking the big day they reunited to open for rock band Mayday's 25th anniversary concert at the Taipei Arena.
This marks their first public appearance and performance together in 12 years.
In June, an exclusive report by Taiwan’s Mirror Media reported that all four original members have reached an agreement to come together for a long-awaited concert to mark the 25th anniversary of their debut.
"The reunion was made possible by Taiwan-based recording company B'in Music, which was behind the comeback of Energy in 2024," the media outlet said.
Further details, such as the venue and countries they will visit, have yet to be announced.
F4 rose to fame in 2001 after starring in Meteor Garden, based on the Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango. The series became a cultural phenomenon across Asia, making the four actors instant stars and leading to the formation of F4 as a musical group.
Their success extended beyond television, with F4 releasing three studio albums, including Meteor Rain (2001), Fantasy 4ever (2002), and Waiting for You (2007).
Due to copyright issues, the group was later rebranded as JVKV, using the initials of their first names.
F4 disbanded in 2009 as members pursued individual careers in music, acting, and other ventures. Their last performance as a group was in 2013, during a surprise reunion at Jiangsu Television's Spring Festival Gala in China.
