The film version of the Broadway musical Hamilton is set to premiere in theaters in September as part of its 10th anniversary celebration.

On YouTube, Disney released a one-minute official trailer featuring scenes from the Tony Award-winning musical.

This upcoming film will also feature an exclusive reunion with the original Broadway cast, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Daveed Diggs, Phillipa Soo, Anthony Ramos, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Leslie Odom Jr., Jonathan Groff, and more.

"I'm so grateful you're here," Miranda, who created the show, said in the video.

Miranda also announced the film during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

"We filmed most of the original cast performing in Hamilton in 2016 and always wanted to release it theatrically. But then the pandemic hit, and so we decided to release it on streaming so everyone could see it at home," Miranda shared.

"But, Sept. 5, you will be able to see Hamilton in movie theaters nationwide and in Puerto Rico," he continued.

The hit musical follows the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, from his role in the American Revolution to the political development of the United States. Based on Ron Chernow's 2004 biography of Hamilton, the show is performed entirely in song and rap.

There is no announcement yet on whether the film will be screened in Philippine cinemas. The original movie can still be streamed from Disney+.

In November 2023, GMG Productions brought Hamilton to the Philippines with OPM star Rachelle Ann Go playing Elizabeth "Eliza" Schulyer Hamilton. She previously played the role in the musical's West End production in London from 2017 to 2019.
