Maine Mendoza a proud girlfriend after Arjo Atayde’s Asian acting award win
Fans of Arjo Atayde are definitely happy after the actor won at the 3rd Asian Academy Creative Awards on Friday, December 4.
Arjo won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his role in the iWant series “Bagman.”
He is the only Filipino to win in the award-giving body’s main competition this year—and the first one to win in the best actor category of the Asian Academy Creative Awards in its three-year history.
“This is for everyone who has been discouraged by others to pursue their dreams, for everyone who has been told that they don’t belong, for everyone with self-doubt, for everyone behind the scenes that made this possible, the 30-year-old actor said in an Instagram post after his win.
“For all my fellow actors in the Philippines — my win is yours,” he added.
But perhaps fewer people are happier for Arjo than his girlfriend, TV host and actress Maine Mendoza, who immediately took to Twitter after the actor bagged the award.

“Well-deserved,” Maine said of Arjo’s win, adding she is his “biggest fan.”
Maine and Arjo admitted that they were dating in 2019, after working together in the 2018 movie “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles.
Last month, Maine was seen celebrating Arjo’s birthday with the actor’s family.
