"Just like the many heroes before them, these deserving D.C. residents will be pampered and given the tools to continue growing even after the Fab Five cross back beyond the Beltway," said Netflix's Tudum in the statement.
The Fab Five is composed of Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski, and Jeremiah Brent—replacing Bobby Berk who left the show in season 8.
On his account, France posted about the series.
“First day of the FINAL season of Queer Eye. It’s been a long, beautiful journey we’ve been on, and I truly appreciate all of the love and support for our little show, that changed my life in ways I never thought possible,” he said. “As we begin our farewell season here on D.C. I simply want to say thank you! Thank you!!!!!”
Van Ness, meanwhile, left a comment on Netflix's post, saying, “What a wild ride. Excited to bring it back one more time.”
Brent and Porowski shared the post on their Instagram story, with the latter saying, “Let’s make our last one count.”
Queer Eye is the longest-running unscripted Netflix series. It's a revival of the popular 2003 Bravo show, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
It has earned 37 Emmy nominations and 11 wins. It also holds the record for having the most wins in the Outstanding Structured Reality Program category in the Emmys, with six consecutive wins.
