The upcoming live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda has found its Zelda and Link.

In a social media post, Nintendo game director Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that Bo Bragason is set to play the titular character Princess Zelda while Link will be portrayed by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth.

"I am pleased to announce that for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda, Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san," reads the post on Nintendo’s official account.

Miyamoto shared that he is "very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen."

Bragason is an English actress who is known for roles in the BBC One series Three Girls and The Jetty.

Her other projects include the Disney+ series Renegade Nell as well as Hidden Love, Censor, and The Radleys.

Ainsworth, meanwhile, gained prominence for the Netflix series The Haunting of Bly Manor and for providing the voice of Pinocchio in Disney's live-action remake.

His other roles include Flora & Ulysses, All Fun and Games, Everything's Going to Be Great, and The Sandman.

The live-action Legend of Zelda will be directed by Wes Ball of the Maze Runner trilogy. Also on board as producer is Avi Arad, a veteran of several Spiderman movies, while Miyamoto will also contribute.

Based on the renowned video game series of the same name, the project is a big-screen first for Zelda, although it was adapted for a 13-episode animated series in 1989.

The franchise follows the elf-like warrior Link, who’s out to defeat the evil Ganon and rescue Zelda, the princess of the kingdom of Hyrule.

The movie will hit big screens around the world on March 26, 2027.
