LIST: 9 more Philippine hotels make it to the Michelin Guide
If you're looking for an excuse to treat yourself to a vacation, the Michelin Guide has added nine more Philippine hotels to its recommendation list, increasing the country’s total to 20.
The prestigious guide previously spotlighted The Admiral Hotel Manila, The Peninsula Manila, Hotel Okura Manila, Amanpulo in Palawan, Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan in Cebu, Nay Palad in Siargao, Manila Marriott Hotel, Solaire Resort Entertainment City, Fairmont Makati, Raffles Makati, and Shangri-La The Fort.
And now, we can proudly add nine more to that list. Here are the newly featured local hotels.
The Westin Manila

The Westin Manila is a five-star hotel in the heart of the Ortigas business district, boasting 303 rooms and suites.
You can enjoy amenities, business facilities, healthy menus, recreation, and relaxation at their fitness studio, spa, and outdoor swimming pool. They also have an all‑day dining restaurant, a Spanish‑inspired rooftop restaurant, an al fresco bar, and a casual yet elegant lounge with an outdoor veranda.
"The Westin Manila brings a wellness-forward perspective to Ortigas Center, one of Metro Manila’s busiest commercial districts. Rooms are generously sized and insulated from the city’s buzz, with floor-to-ceiling windows, soft-toned interiors, and the brand’s signature Heavenly Beds," Michelin's description reads.
"Natural textures and greenery run throughout the hotel, from the spa to the light-filled lobby. Families and business travelers will appreciate the practical comforts, like a lavender sleep balm at turndown and a pet-friendly program with dog beds and menus in the dining areas," it added.
NUSTAR Hotel Cebu

Leave it to Cebu to give us some high-class hospitality with a splash of island flair. NUSTAR Hotel is a luxury destination located on Kawit Island with rooms that have full-length windows where you can see vistas of Cebu City or spectacular seascapes.
Some villas feature expansive interiors, a private sea-facing pool, and a garden balcony. Guests are also treated to fitness and wellness facilities, several expansive outdoor pools, and a spa that has treatments ranging from rejuvenating facials to cleansing body scrubs.
"NUSTAR Hotel’s rooms and suites are oversized, with deep soaking tubs and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over sea or skyline. And while the atmosphere is design-hotel hip, it’s also relaxed and unhurried — though the energy picks up in the tasting room, lounge, and pool villas," Michelin's description reads.
Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort

Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort in Lapu-Lapu City offers a heavenly oceanfront retreat that blends "Filipino warmth with Thai hospitality."
The resort is easily accessible from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport by land and sea transport. Here, you'll find yourself surrounded by tropical islands as you relax in their stylish rooms and suites.
"Dusit Thani brings together Filipino warmth and Thai hospitality, offering intuitive service and one of the most impressive infinity pools in the region. Rooms are bright and comfortable, many with balconies made for sunset-watching," Michelin's description reads.
"A stylish Thai restaurant and breezy beachside bar complete the scene, all anchored by a lobby that feels more like a tropical stage set than a check-in desk," it added.
Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort

Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort is another luxurious five-star resort located on the white-sand shores of Mactan Island, just about 20–30 minutes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
The resort features 261 rooms ranging from cozy guest rooms to more expansive executive suites. They also have a spa with locally inspired massages and body treatments, a 24-hour fitness center, and a relaxing leisure pool.
"Rooms and suites are among the island’s largest, with balconies, soaking tubs, and views over the gardens or sea. The property is well-equipped for both relaxation and activity, with a six-room spa, kids’ club, watersports, and a large pool," Michelin's description reads.
"Dining spans Nikkei cuisine at Dip and Mediterranean plates at Buhi Cave Bar, plus a lively bakery-café in the lobby. It is the perfect base for exploring Cebu’s beaches and cultural sites," it added.
The Funny Lion in El Nido

You'll certainly find yourself smiling at The Funny Lion's branch in the heart of El Nido. It offers 50 well-appointed designer rooms as well as access to the popular Papaya Beach.
Their guest rooms feature a variety of amenities, including coffee and tea that you can sip while enjoying pool views at your veranda, and an all-day dining restaurant inspired by the natural limestone cliffs of El Nido.
"Rooms are bright and functional, each with a veranda overlooking the pool and plenty of little comforts for downtime between adventures. Rooms are smartly laid out, with locally sourced materials, clever lighting, and breezy balconies facing the pool," Michelin's description reads.
Piece Lio

Another favored accommodation in El Nido is Piece Lio, a Japanese-style eco-friendly retreat that offers guests a tranquil sanctuary just steps from Lio Beach.
Its rooms highlight a blend of modern luxury and functional design, and are ideal whether you're on a business trip or seeking a peaceful escape surrounded by nature. The Presidential Loft is the most luxurious, featuring separate lofted bedrooms, living areas, kitchenettes, and private balconies.
"Expect 24-hour service, a range of dining options nearby, and easy access to some of El Nido’s clearest waters and most dramatic limestone cliffs," Michelin's description reads.
City of Dreams’ Nobu Hotel Manila

Located within Parañaque's City of Dreams, Nobu Hotel Manila features a modern, Japanese-inspired aesthetic, complete with lush landscapes and calming water features.
The 321-room hotel boasts rejuvenating signature treatments and authentic Asian therapies at its spa as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center and a sprawling 23.2m infinity lap pool.
Guests can dance the night away with refreshing sundown cocktails at the bar.
"Nobu Hotel Manila brings the brand’s signature Japanese aesthetic and easy glamour to the Philippines... Though you are steps from the casino and nightlife, the hotel itself is composed and design-forward, with bamboo details, low-slung furniture, and sleek, sun-filled rooms," Michelin's description reads.
Grand Hyatt Manila

Grand Hyatt Manila in Taguig has 461 beautiful rooms, including a so-called "Grand Club" room and suites designed with wood paneling, maple flooring, marble bathrooms, and large windows with a view of the city.
You can experience the best of theatre and dining in an immersive culinary journey at The Peak, which combines a grill restaurant, speakeasy, whisky bar, and music lounge. There's also a spa, a fitness center, and a pool that's perfect for unwinding after a day of indulgence or business.
"Grand Hyatt Manila delivers high-rise hospitality on an impressive scale. Its rooms and suites feature large windows, marble bathrooms, and warm wood finishes, along with expansive city views," Michelin's description reads.
The Lind Boracay

This article wouldn't be complete without any mentions of Boracay. The Lind, a lifestyle beachfront property on Station 1 in Boracay Island, also made it to the list.
The five-star, 119-room luxury hotel allows guests easy access to one of the finest white sand beaches in the world. It is also equipped with various venue options such as The Lind ballroom, beachfront, and Infinity for special moments.
"Rooms are large by local standards, all with balconies and a design that mixes soft curves, graphic details, and just enough color to lift the neutrals," Michelin's description reads.
"The Lind is where good design and genuine hospitality go hand in hand," it added.
