Want to win NTD 5,000? Taiwan's Lucky Land draw is extended until Sept. 30

Ready for a vacation that literally pays you? Taiwan is making it happen!

Recently, Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a one-year extension of its visa-free entry program for Philippine passport holders.

This fantastic news sets the stage for even more exciting opportunities, especially since the "Taiwan Lucky Land" draw, which gives tourists a shot at winning NTD 5,000, has been extended.

Originally ending this June, you now have until Sept. 30 to try your luck.

This initiative, which was introduced in May 2023, is all part of Taiwan's plan to boost tourism and become a top travel spot.

So, how does this work? If you're flying to Taiwan, all you have to do is pre-register between seven days and a day before your arrival.

Who is eligible?

Foreign independent travelers who hold foreign (non-ROC) passports, have stays in Taiwan of 3-90 days, are not members of tour groups, and are not applying for any group-related ROC travel incentives are eligible to join.

How to join?

After you arrive in Taiwan, head to the "Taiwan the Lucky Land" area at Taoyuan (Terminal 1 and 2), Songshan, Taichung, or Kaohsiung International Airports.

You'll need to present the QR code you received during campaign registration to participate in the lucky draw.

Once you scan the QR code, you'll immediately see if you've won a NT$5,000 travel prize.

If you're a winner, show your passport and other required documents (like your entry stamp, boarding pass, and electronic round-trip air ticket) to the staff at the prize redemption area.

After you sign to confirm receipt, you'll get your prize.

Remember, the prize type you receive is the one you chose when you registered, and it cannot be changed once entered into the system. Both the lucky draw and prize redemption must be completed on the same day you arrive in Taiwan.

What are the prizes?

For those who choose electronic tickets, you can choose from EasyCard, iPass, or icash 2.0, or whatever is available.

The EasyCard contains a stored value of NT$5,000, with a daily or one-time spending limit of NT$5,000.

You can use iPass e-tickets at partner stores in Taiwan for small purchases. There's a NT$1,000 limit per single purchase and a NT$3,000 daily limit.

icash e-tickets, meanwhile, also work at partner stores in Taiwan for small payments. For these, the limit is NT$1,500 per single purchase and NT$3,000 daily.

The validity period for all e-tickets is 90 days.

If you pick the accommodation voucher, you'll receive five NT$1,000 vouchers, totaling NT$5,000. Only the winner can use them, and each voucher is for a single use; no change or resale is allowed. You can use these at approved tourist hotels and B&Bs in Taiwan. A list of these will be provided with your e-vouchers.

Note that the travel prize will be based on the type you chose at registration, and cannot be changed.
