Donald Trump's son slams death rumors surrounding the US President
The son of Donald Trump shut down rumors about the US president's death as he shifted the blame to the "radical left."
"The radical left is so sick and twisted…" Eric Trump wrote on X on Sept. 1, quoting Leading Report, which reported that President Trump, 79, responded to the rumors that he passed away with, "Never felt better in my life."
Trump has been seen out and about on Aug. 30 amid the rumors, according to PEOPLE Magazine. He was photographed getting into a motorcade with grandchildren Kai Trump, 18, and Spencer Trump, 12, on the south lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C., ahead of a family golf trip.
On Sept. 1, the US Labor Day, PEOPLE reported that Trump was photographed departing the White House for his Trump National Golf Course in Sterling, Virginia.
According to the White House press pool, he golfed for around five and a half hours before returning home.
The death rumors began when "Trump Is Dead" and “Where Is Trump?” trended on X on Aug. 29, a day after US Vice President JD Vance's interview with USA Today got published.
In the interview, Vance expressed readiness to step up in case anything happens to the president. He was speaking in the context of two assassination attempts against Trump in 2024, one in July and another in September of that year.
"Yes, terrible tragedies happen," Vance is quoted as saying. "But I feel very confident the President of the United States is in good shape, is going to serve out the remainder of his term and do great things for the American people."
“And if, God forbid, there's a terrible tragedy, I can't think of better on-the-job training than what I've gotten over the last 200 days,” he added.
In the last week of August, Trump sparked health concerns after a large, dark bruise on his right hand—which he usually covers with makeup—was spotted during his meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, PEOPLE reported.
The bruise was first seen in February, drawing attention especially since the concealer didn't match the skin tone.
The White House, however, said Trump "remains in excellent health."
