Applicants who are offered a slot must reply to upcollegeapplications.oadms@up.edu.ph by Saturday, May 31.

During the media briefing on April 22, UP President Angelo Jimenez said that the school is "opening doors that lead to opportunity, and hopefully to nation-building, and the lifelong journey and service."

"To the successful examinees, congratulations to all of you. Your hard work, your dreams, and your potential have brought you to this very moment" Jimenez said. "To those who didn't make it, know that this is not the end of the course, but the beginning of the many paths you can take towards your goals. UP is just one way to serve the country and to promote your dreams."

Jimenez said that out of the 135,236 UPCAT applicants, 17,996 or 13% passed, including those who are still on waitlist. This was a 6.74% increase from 2024.

He noted that 55% of the students come from public schools, while the rest are from private schools.

"This is a significant figure because just three years ago, the numbers were almost reverse. Only 44% came from public schools, while 56% came from private schools. And also significantly, the share of non-science public schools also increased from last year's 29.8% to 31% this year," he said.

He added that 30% came from high schools in Metro Manila, 6% from Laguna, 4% from Cavite, slightly 4% from Cebu, Bulacan, and Rizal Province.

Additionally, the university saw more students coming from more provinces this year. In Davao de Oro, where they typically have less than 10 qualifiers, they now have 31 qualifiers after opening a testing center in Nabunturan.

The UPCAT consists of four subtests: Language Proficiency, Science, Mathematics, and Reading Comprehension.

According to its website, the standardized scores on these subtests are combined with the weighted average of final grades in the first three years of high school to determine the applicant's eligibility.
