Proscenium Theater opens with ‘The Bodyguard the Musical’ starring Christine Allado

International theater sensation and Grammy-nominated artist Christine Allado, best known for her breakout role in Hamilton’s original West End cast as Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds, returns to Manila to take on another iconic role—Rachel Marron—in 9 Works Theatrical September staging of The Bodyguard The Musical at Proscenium Theater, Rockwell Center, Makati City.

Inspired by the 1992 cinematic phenomenon starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, the musical reimagines the story of global superstar Rachel Marron and the former Secret Service agent assigned to protect her.

Set to the unforgettable soundtrack of I Have Nothing, Run to You, and I Will Always Love You, Christine’s performance breathes new life into a story of fame, danger, and unexpected romance.

Having performed alongside Andrea Bocelli to sold-out arenas across Europe and Asia, and starred in The Prince of Egypt, and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights, Christine brings her world-class talent to the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell’s first-ever theatrical production.

She also starred as Julie Jordan in Carousel, performed in We Will Rock You, and co-starred with Lea Salonga and Bernadette Peters for the original West End run of Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends at the Gielgud Theater. Christine also appeared in major productions at the Royal Albert Hall, on Netflix, and the BBC. This year, she is also set to lead the West End premiere of Jo: Little Women The Musical.

The Bodyguard the Musical is directed by Robbie Guevara with musical direction by Daniel Bartolome.
