'My Chemical Romance' drummer Bob Bryar died next to canisters of nitrous oxide

More details have been revealed about the death of Bob Bryar, the former drummer of the rock band My Chemical Romance.

TMZ, citing the Bedford County Medical Examiner's report, said Bryar's decomposed body was found next to three canisters of the gas or nitrous oxide.

According to the National Library of Medicine, nitrous oxide is an odorless, colorless, non-flammable gas. While it's not flammable, it will support combustion to the same extent as oxygen.

Inhalation leads to a state of euphoria, hence it's also called "laughing gas."

The report said the canisters had attached tubing, suggesting that they were ready for use.

The medical examiner, however, didn't specify whether the substance played a role in Bryar's death.

He also found antidepressants at the drummer's home.

He raised concerns over intentional or accidental overdose, but noted that Bryar's body was so badly decomposed that it's impossible to determine an exact cause of death.

Bryar was found dead in his house in Tennessee in November 2024. He was 44. The cause of his death was not specified.

He joined My Chemical Romance during a tour in 2004, replacing Matt Pelissier after the release of its studio album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. He served as the band's drummer until 2014.

Upon leaving My Chemical Romance, he explored a career in the real estate industry.

My Chemical Romance is known for the hits Welcome to The Black Parade, Famous Last Words, and Helena.
