Free train rides are coming this Independence Day.

This June 12, the Light Rail Transit Authority - Line 2 will offer free rides on all stations in commemoration of the country's 127th Independence Day.

It was announced by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines during its June 2 press conference.

Passengers can ride the trains for free on June 12 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. only.

“Ito po ay para makapunta ang mga tao dito sa Luneta makiisa sa ating mga activities sa kahabaan ng Roxas Boulevard,” NHCP Executive Director Carminda Arevalo said on the same press conference.

The commission will also launch several activities around Metro Manila to celebrate Kalayaan 2025 through simultaneous flag-raising ceremonies on historical monuments, parades, and concerts.

The MRT 3 and LRT-1 have yet to announce if they will offer free rides for the holiday.
