Securing futures: InLife financial advisors transform lives

Published May 24, 2025 5:00 am

For over a century, InLife has empowered Filipinos to lead “A Lifetime for Good.” The company’s financial advisors embody this mission as they help their clients and their loved ones navigate their financial journey.

InLife’s top financial advisors discussed how life insurance empowers Filipinos to protect their future, secure their families, and achieve financial security.

Arslie M. Malipero of CPV Malipero and Associates Insurance Agency, Inc. pointed out that life insurance serves as a financial safety net during times of need.

“One moment that truly affirmed InLife’s promise of A Lifetime for Good was when my high school classmate, who had purchased a critical illness policy from me three years earlier, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She told me that having that policy made all the difference—it gave her the financial means and emotional strength to focus on her recovery,” Malipero shared.

“Another client underwent surgery last year. Thanks to his policy, he was able to receive survivorship benefits and dividends, which significantly helped cover the medical expenses. I also recall some clients who, during the most difficult times in their lives, experienced first-hand how InLife’s insurance products offered them not just financial assistance, but dignity and hope,” he added.

Malipero explained that while many of his prospective and existing clients already have insurance coverage, most are underinsured because their coverage is not aligned with their current lifestyle, income, or growing responsibilities. He encourages them to review and upgrade their plans every three to four years, especially when their businesses or income increases, to ensure adequate coverage.

“This approach not only gives my clients peace of mind but also sets a standard among my peers. I’ve seen how this proactive mindset has inspired fellow financial advisors to do the same—prioritizing regular policy reviews and truly understanding each client’s long-term goals,” Malipero said.

Positive impact on people's lives

Suzette A. Morillo of Agila Financial Team General Insurance Agency, Inc. shared that her corporate client’s insurance benefits helped with their medical and funeral expenses and tax obligations.

Morillo said the feeling of fulfillment from helping her clients motivates her to continue educating others on the value of life insurance. “As a financial advisor, I guide and help my clients achieve their financial goals. I give them the authority to control their financial future. With this approach, I win the trust of my clients and nurture good relationships,” she said.

Throughout her 29-year career, Mercedita F. Gurrea of Agila Financial Team General Insurance Agency, Inc. has helped countless clients navigate life's uncertainties.

Gurrea shared that when her client lost her husband, she worked closely with her to create a comprehensive financial plan. Thanks to InLife, she was able to pay off debts, cover their living expenses, and set aside funds for her children's education.

“Witnessing the positive impact of our work on her family was a powerful reminder of the importance of our mission. Being a financial advisor is not just a job but a calling. It requires passion, dedication, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives,” she said.

Financial preparedness matters

Nancy F. Lin of Agila Financial Team General Insurance Agency, Inc. has seen how financial security makes a real difference in people’s lives.

Lin shared that a client who lost their mother was left with emotional devastation and financial worries. “She had an InLife policy, and the death benefit was released in just two days, providing immediate relief. This moment reminded me why financial preparedness matters and how InLife truly delivers on its promise of A Lifetime for Good—offering support when families need it most.”

Lin noted that helping people achieve financial security and peace of mind is the biggest reward of her career. “Through strategic planning, investments, and risk management, I guide my clients toward a better future. Beyond that, I am passionate about mentoring and inspiring others in the industry because we can change more lives. I encourage others to pursue this career, not just for success, but to make a real difference in people’s lives.”

For Carmen C. Yap of J & C and Associates Insurance Agency, Inc., educating Filipinos on financial planning is a privilege. Over the years, she has helped clients prepare for life’s uncertainties, protect their assets, build wealth, and ensure financial stability.

Yap shared that her client, a meat supplier, died due to a stroke. She noted that his wife and seven children received the death benefits, but Yap’s support did not stop there. Yap taught the widow how to manage her money wisely, enabling her to open a small store in the public market to support her children.

“My purpose is to help people understand the true meaning of financial security and how it can safeguard their families. Financial planning is not just about numbers; it is about lives, dreams, and the legacy we leave behind. For this, I will continue my mission to transform lives, one financial plan at a time,” Yap said.
