Miss Grand Philippines 2025 reveals date for coronation night
Save the date this August, pageant fans, as the Miss Grand Philippines is about to crown its next queen!
In an announcement on their social media pages, the organization announced that the grand finals will be held on Aug. 12 at the Mall of Asia Arena at 7:00 p.m.
This year, four titles are at stake: Miss Grand International Philippines, Miss Asia Pacific International Philippines, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas, and Face of Beauty International Philippines.
"Each crown holds a promise, a dream, and a powerful representation of our country. These new queens will carry our flag with pride, courage, and ambition with hopes of achieving back-to-back victories for the Philippines," Miss Grand Philippines said.
The coronation night will be livestreamed via the pageant's official YouTube channel GrandPhTV. For those who want to watch the competition in person, ticket prices and details will be announced soon at SM Tickets.
Christine Juliane "CJ" Opiaza will crown her successor at the end of the event. The winner will represent the Philippines in the Miss Grand International 2025, to be held on Oct. 18 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Opiaza was crowned Miss Grand International 2024 on June 3, replacing her initial title as first runner-up.
"I was just one of those hopeful candidates and I was able to take home the first runner-up crown, and I have been really grateful to have been part of this roster of such amazing women around the globe to be representing their countries, and of course to be an international ambassador of the MGI organization," she said in her speech.
"I know best things happen for a reason. You just have to wait for that very specific moment, but you have to hold on and do whatever it takes. Before I signed up for this job, I knew I was born ready. I am always ready, and now I’ve been given the challenge, and I am taking the challenge and the responsibility to fill [those] shoes as your first runner-up, and now, as your Miss Grand International 2024," she added.
Her crowning comes after the previous titleholder, Rachel Gupta, relinquished the crown following her claims of mistreatment by MGI executives.
In a video statement, the Indian beauty queen said the Miss Grand International organization "only cared about money" and that it was "impossible to work" with them. She added that despite her hard work, all she got in return was "constant harassment, mental torture, mistreatment, and it's on a systemic level."
