Content creator Yanna Motovlog skipped the Land Transportation Office's May 6 hearing regarding her involvement in a viral road rage incident with a pickup truck driver in Zambales.

Yanna Motovlog, born Alyannah Aguinaldo, sent her lawyer Ace Jurado to appear on her behalf instead.

Jurado said Aguinaldo was absent due to security reasons. He claimed there have been threats against his client's life, as her address was supposedly posted online.

The lawyer read Aguinaldo's apology letter before the pickup truck driver, Jimmy Pascua, and LTO officials.

"Ako po ay humihingi ng sinserong pagpapaunmanhin dahil napagdesisyunan ko na po na hindi sumagot at humarap na lang ng personal sa show cause order ng LTO," Jurado quoted Aguinaldo as saying. "Anuman po ang maging desisyon patungkol sa aking maling nagawa ay lubos ko pong gagalangin, at mapagkumbabang tatanggapin ang anumang kaparusahan na maaaring ipataw sa akin ng inyong ahensiya."

Pascua, however, dismissed the apology, stressing that Aguinaldo was a no-show.

He noted that he will continue to file a criminal case against her.

"Hindi naman po sincere 'yung (apology) nila," he said. "Itutuloy ko na lang 'yung kaso."

Road rage incident

In a viral video, the motovlogger can be seen giving Pascua the middle finger after accusing him of reckless driving.

When Pascua alighted from his vehicle to confront Aguinaldo and explain the situation regarding the bumpy roads, she was allegedly aggressive toward him, even throwing derogatory remarks against him as he walked away.

Looking back, Pascua said he was supposed to let the incident go, but was surprised when a group of riders appeared to have waited for him. That, he said, prompted him to confront Aguinaldo.

The LTO, for its part, said Aguinaldo had expressed readiness to "accept the sanctions that would be imposed by the LTO in connection with the incident."

“Yanna Motovlog sent a letter to the LTO apologizing not only to the driver of the pick-up and his family but also to all the people affected by her behavior on the road when the incident happened in Zambales,” the agency said in a statement.

During the hearing, Aguinaldo, through Jurado, was asked to surrender her license on May 8, Thursday, at 10 a.m., when another hearing will take place.

"We mandated her, through her legal counsel, to surrender her driver’s license. That is for her own good,” Mendoza said.

Aguinaldo was also instructed to bring the motorcycle she used during the time of the incident for inspection on May 8.

The LTO said it learned that the motorcycle wasn't registered under her name.

In the meantime, the driver's license of Aguinaldo was placed under a 90-day preventive suspension pending investigation.
