Metro Manila, parts of Luzon to have rainy weekend amid 'Crising' landfall, habagat
Metro Manila and parts of Luzon are set for a rainy weekend with Tropical Storm Crising around.
In its 11 a.m. bulletin on July 18, Friday, state weather bureau PAGASA said Crising will move generally northwestward within the next 12 hours.
It's forecast to make landfall over mainland Cagayan or Babuyan Islands in the afternoon, if not evening.
Crising is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by the afternoon of July 19, Saturday, moving west northwestward and traversing over Extreme Northern Luzon.
Still, PAGASA said Crising will continue to intensify until it reaches severe tropical storm category by Saturday morning or afternoon.
On its weekly weather outlook, PAGASA said that for July 18 and 19, Crising will bring stormy weather across Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Region.
Nueva Ecija and Aurora, as well as the rest of northern Luzon, will also have rainy conditions and gusty winds.
The western parts of Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas are set to have occasional rains.
There will be cloudy skies elsewhere, and scattered rains and thunderstorms are possible.
For July 20, Sunday, to July 24, Thursday, PAGASA said that although Crising will be outside the PAR, the southwest monsoon or habagat will continue to affect the country. It will bring occasional rains to the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.
The rest of Luzon and Visayas can expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
Mindanao will generally have fair weather, though isolated rains or thunderstorms may still occur.
