Passion to progress: Redefining women’s healthcare

Published Jul 28, 2025 5:00 pm

Women face countless challenges when it comes to healthcare: taboos, stigma, long clinic lines, costly treatments, and a lack of understanding around our constantly evolving bodies. Too often, Filipinas suffer in silence, misdiagnosed or left untreated.

I practiced as a nurse for a few years in different healthcare settings in the Philippines. From government hospitals to upscale clinics, I got exposed to the art of caring for patients from different walks of life. After that, I worked for over a decade in e-commerce startups here and overseas. My own personal experiences and reflections during the pandemic were what led me to go back to healthcare. With my background in healthcare and e-commerce, I saw a clear opportunity to combine my passion for tech, business, healthcare, and my consumer lifestyle expertise in the women’s space: Kindred

Kindred was born with a mission to redefine women’s healthcare and build its future in the Philippines by making it more accessible, more human, and more empathetic. As the Philippines’ first hybrid women’s clinic, we combine the ease of virtual care with the comfort of physical clinics, ensuring a seamless and safe experience at every touchpoint. Our team of healthcare professionals takes a holistic, patient-centered approach — breaking down barriers and opening up conversations many women have long been afraid to have.

At our third anniversary event, Bloom with Kindred, I reflected on how far we’ve come. From our first clinic in BGC in 2022 to a growing network that now spans Luzon and Visayas with new branches in San Juan, Manila, Pampanga, Laguna, Alabang, and Cebu, Kindred is making quality care more available to more women than ever before.

Beyond building clinics, we’re also building a movement here at Kindred. Our commitment extends beyond medical services such as health packages, ultrasounds, vaccines, and IV drips. Through educational campaigns online and offline, advocacy for reproductive rights, and open conversations about mental health, we empower women to take control of their own health journeys at their own pace, with their own decisions.

Our team of healthcare professionals takes a holistic, patient-centered approach — breaking down barriers and opening up conversations many women have long been afraid to have.

Ultimately, Kindred feels like a love letter to our younger selves. Our community — ourselves included — is well-aware of how many people are looking for high-quality, comprehensive, and safe care. Having the immense privilege of possessing the right means and capabilities to build the healthcare we deserve has taken us above and beyond in our mission, while building on trust along the way. There are so many barriers to accessing quality care and the right resources, which is why we are so determined to pursue innovation in the femtech space.

As we enter this next chapter in full bloom, we remain grounded in the type of care that has always guided us from the very start. Every consultation, every conversation, and every service we offer is designed to help women feel seen, heard, and supported. In our third year, and in the years to come, we’ll continue to help women everywhere bloom — through healthcare that truly cares.
