Kris Aquino says doctor saw something 'alarming' in blood test
Kris Aquino said her doctor saw something "alarming" in her blood panel results amid her string of autoimmune diseases, even as she expressed optimism that her fight goes on.
In an Instagram post on Aug. 19, Aquino said she came for the second dose of Rituximab, an antibody medication, when Dr. Geraldine Zamora saw something in blood panel results that was "alarming."
"She convinced me to have an ultrasound [done] yesterday; with all my hospitalizations, I can already tell na dapat na kong kabahan pag umakyat na yung senior technician," Aquino said.
The "Queen of All Media" said she had three more tests and three different specialists. She explained that it was important not to delay them as she would be "endangering [her] life further."
“Parang kulang pa ‘yung mahirap nang bilangin na ‘life-threatening’ autoimmune diseases ko,” she added.
Aquino also noted that her son, Bimb, hasn't been sleeping well since the night before her confinement. She also got a visit from her eldest son Josh.
She further shared that her doctors have discussed why she was getting these "difficult to detect possible health time bombs." They learned that she is allergic to all blood thinners.
For her treatment plan, Aquino said she put her care in the hands of Filipino doctors. She also had a non-invasive option explained to her.
She noted that she just finished "a big dose" of a strong immunosuppressant, while she's also taking two immunosuppressants and "so much more" supplements, antihistamines, and important vitamins.
She asked the public to pray for her doctors, their assistants, the nurses, and technicians.
"Wag sana kayo sumuko sa pagdasal dahil kumukuha ako ng lakas galing sa kabutihang loob ninyo," she added, followed by the hashtags #pleasewagsumuko and #tuloyparinanglaban.
Aquino has been diagnosed with several autoimmune diseases. Last July 20, she said she already had 11 of them after two new ones were found.
She's also dealing with fibromyalgia, which triggers pain and tenderness throughout the body; polymyositis, an inflammatory disease that leads to muscle weakness; and mixed connective tissue disease, which combines disorders such as lupus, scleroderma, and polymyositis.
She went to the United States in June 2022 to undergo treatment and returned to the Philippines in September 2024.
