Rabiya Mateo figures in wakeboard accident: 'Still, life is good'

Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo figured in a wakeboarding accident recently, but assured her fans that she's alright.

The beauty queen and actress showed her injuries in an Instagram story on Wednesday, April 23. 

"Part of being adventurous is experiencing accidents," she wrote. "Got hit by a wakeboard. Chipped my tooth. Got some bruising and swelling on my left face."

Rabiya Mateo shares that she figured in a wakeboard accident recently.

"Still, life is good. Thank you, Lord!" the 28-year-old added.

Toward the end of the video, Mateo makes goofy faces, smiles at the camera, and gives a thumbs-up.

Mateo seems to be a lover of exhilarating activities.

Last April, she did skydiving in the United States. "Free falling into life’s best moments," she said in the caption of her Instagram reel posted on April 1. "I know my mom is having a panic attack while watching this video."

On April 2, she posted a carousel that included a photo of her suspended in the air with the caption, "YOLO," or "You only live once," a quote that encourages individuals to make the most out of their lives.

Mateo represented the Philippines in Miss Universe 2020, which was held in the United States in May 2021. She finished in the Top 21 of the competition.

After her pageant stint, she made appearances on GMA Network as a guest host or judge in several programs.

In 2021, Mateo made her acting debut in a segment of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho's annual horror special Gabi ng Lagim. She had a number of supporting roles in GMA teleseryes, including Agimat ng Agila, Royal Blood, and Makiling. She also appeared in Wish Ko Lang!, Magpakailanman, and Tadhana.

Later on, she became a mainstay cast member in the long-running gag show Bubble Gang.
