Rufa Mae Quinto has requested privacy for her family following the death of her husband, Trevor Magallanes.

"Maraming Salamat sa lahat ng nagpadala ng mensahe ng pakikiramay. As we cautiously navigate through this emotionally difficult period in our lives, we would appreciate discretion from everyone," she wrote.

She appealed to social media users to refrain from using her husband's death for their content on social media.

"Nakikiusap ako na huwag naman po ninyong gamitin ang pangyayaring ito para magkaroon lamang kayo ng ‘content," she said. "As the wife of Trev, all information surrounding his passing will come from me." She added that she will disclose more details soon.

"For the sake of our daughter, Athena, please refrain from spreading unverified information that she can access through social media," she appealed, adding, "Let us just remember the good times that we had with my husband, Trev."

In a separate post, the actress clarified that they are still legally married, stating that neither she nor Magallanes has filed for annulment or divorce, despite Trevor previously announcing their split in December and saying they were in the process of divorcing.

"Mag asawa pa din kami ni Trevor, walang nag file saamin ng annulment. Dito po kami sa Pilipinas kinasal Nov 25,2016. Ako po ay Widow/ byuda na," she wrote.

In her previous interview, Quinto talked about their marital woes, saying Magallanes was a good father and a husband, though the problem is that he doesn't want to get involved in showbiz matters. She also expressed at the time that, while she still loves her husband, she respects his decision to end their marriage.

"[Shocked] pa din at nag luluksa po kaming mag-ina and salamat po sa lahat ng condolences and sympathy," she added.

"Lord, please give me and Athena, our daughter, strength. Ang sakit," the actress concluded.

Quinto announced on Thursday, July 31, that Trevor has passed away. His cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

"We are still gathering factual information about his death. Even [we] or his immediate family are still verifying what happened," she wrote at the time, calling for public to refrain from spreading speculations or fake news about his death.

Quinto tied the knot with Magallanes, who is based in the US, in November 2016. She gave birth to their daughter in February the following year.
