Bea Borres admits she considered getting an abortion
Bea Borres revealed that she once tried to get an abortion, before seeing three signs that made her decide to embrace her pregnancy.
The content creator opened up on Toni Gonzaga's vlog about how she first navigated her unexpected pregnancy, admitting she had considered terminating it at first.
“Actually umabot po sa point na nandoon na po talaga ako sa clinic. I was going through the tests and everything," Borres recalled.
"It took an hour, nandoon ako nakaupo. And then, after everything, biglang may pumasok [na nurse], tapos sinabi niya na lang na 'You can't push through with this.' So unang pumasok sa isip ko, 'Iba Ka talaga ,nagpapakita Ka talaga," she said. "May reason naman, pero mas tineyk ko siya na sign."
The vlogger went on to share that the second sign happened while she was on a plane bound for New York City from Los Angeles.
“I was crying sa plane. I was so lost. I know naman na if I push through with my pregnancy, kaya ko pa rin, and my baby will grow up full of love. It's just that hindi mawawala 'yung thoughts na what if na other option," Borres said.
The woman seated next to her started to ask her if she was okay.
“Sabi ko 'I'm just really sad because I'm actually pregnant, and here in America, women have a choice. But where I’m from, it’s not really talked about that much.' The first thing she said was, ‘Oh well, you know what they say: Babies are blessings from God.' Second sign,” Borres shared.
Borres shared that the third sign happened when she was resting after shopping with her friend, Danica Ontengco. A lady from a Christian women's organization suddenly approached her and told her, "If ever you are going through something and you need support, help, and guidance from the Lord, we are here and you can contact us anytime."
After seeing the signs, Borres admitted that she still hadn’t fully accepted the situation when she returned to the Philippines, until her friend, actress Andrea Brillantes, sent her a text message.
“Bea, sana girl ang baby mo, tapos ang name niya Hope," Brillantes told her.
Borres bared that she chose that to be the name of her child.
"Hope, kasi I was at rock bottom I feel and I know sa sinabi ko sa public, punong-puno na po ako ng hope ngayon. Hope na everything will be okay na ibigay talaga siya ni God sa akin kasi may reason siya hindi basta-basta lang. Kahit na wala akong partner and wala akong kasama, I know that everything will be okay po," she added.
Borres announced her pregnancy on Aug. 12. She revealed that her daughter's name will be Victoria Hope.
“'Di ba siyempre kapag nilagyan mo ng action 'yung hope hindi ba victorious siya," she said. "Finally may na-reveal ako na galing sa akin.”
